Meet Yurii Romashko, the Generation17 member and lawyer from the Ukraine increasing digital transparency for civilians in order to improve civil society.
Yurii Romashko, a lawyer and digital advocate from Ukraine, is one of our featured Generation17 Young Leaders. Yurii is the co-founder and executive director of the Institute of Analysis and Advocacy (IAA), an organization that works to improve civil society by increasing transparency through digital tools. The group partners with government agencies to combat everything from price gouging during the COVID-19 pandemic to providing “smart city” resources to residents in Ukraine and abroad.
Generation17 is an initiative in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that aims to harness technology to elevate the voices of young leaders around the globe who are working to achieve the Global Goals in now less than 10 years. Established by the United Nations in 2015, the Global Goals—or Sustainable Development Goals—provide a framework to address pressing global challenges, including poverty, inequality, climate change and peace and justice, and build a better future for all by 2030.
