Samsung Launches Self-Repair Program in Brazil and Mexico

October 10, 2023

This initiative aims to empower consumers who want to keep their device longer, offering another repair option.

SEOUL, Korea – October 10, 2023 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announces the launch of its global self-repair program in the Brazilian and Mexican markets. This initiative is designed to offer consumers an alternative for repairs, enhancing convenience and enabling them to keep their Galaxy devices for as long as possible, prolonging the product's life cycle if properly repaired, and reducing electronic waste.

"Samsung is working to extend the lifecycle of our devices and to encourage users to experience optimized performance of their Galaxy devices for as long as possible. This is yet another initiative in this direction, expanding access to repairs and broadening possibilities for our consumers," says Virgilio Moreira, Senior Director of Customer Service at Samsung Latin America.

Self-repair kits have items such as a phone screen1, charging port, and back glass. In addition, they include all the tools necessary to carry out the service and instructions in the manuals. At first, the program will offer support for repairs to the Galaxy S20, S21, and S22 series.

Qualified Repair Through Samsung Contigo
The company already provides the "Samsung Contigo" program in Brazil and will soon expand it to other countries in the region, offering interested, independent repairers access to the brand's genuine parts and qualified information, essential items for providing reliable and long-lasting service.

Technicians enrolled in the program have access to guides and manuals for repairing various Samsung products, including phones, TVs, and household appliances. This allows professionals to stay current with the latest trends and technologies.

Access to Exclusive Benefits Through Select+
Along with the announcement of the new Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5 foldable smartphones and Galaxy Tab S9 tablets, Samsung has launched an exclusive benefit for buyers of these products throughout Latin America – Select+. The assistance program aims to guarantee additional support for users of premium devices, through an outstanding priority service experience.

Benefits include priority access to exclusive support channels and replacement of protective films. In addition, the program guarantees priority service at Samsung service centers and in home care, available in the main capitals and large metropolitan centers of the countries in the region.

Another difference with Select+ is access to exclusive content, shared by Samsung Members, such as videos and tutorials with explanations, frequently asked questions, and step-by-step instructions on different functions of Samsung's newest premium smartphones.
