SEOUL, Korea – Oct. 28, 2026 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced U.S. availability for Galaxy Buds On, open-ear earbuds designed for always-on listening. Galaxy Buds On rests comfortably on the ear, keeping users connected to people and their surroundings while they enjoy rich listening experiences throughout the day. Thoughtful hardware and intuitive hands-free controls complement how people listen, move and live every day.

Users can utilize traditional in-ear earbuds like Galaxy Buds4 Pro for deep focus and noise cancellation and then switch to Galaxy Buds On for situations that demand awareness of their environment and hands-free convenience, like outdoor running.

Designed for Comfortable Everyday Wear

Galaxy Buds On features a clip-on design with a band crafted to balance a secure fit and comfortable wear throughout daily routines.

Drawing on more than 119 million ear data points, Samsung used AI-assisted optimizations and physics simulations to refine the design for a diverse range of ear shapes.

Computational modeling helped optimize speaker and battery geometry to create a low-pressure fit around the ear, while refining the stiffness and shape of the band for a secure, comfortable fit.

Weighing 6.65 g per earbud, Galaxy Buds On supports tap controls and comes with a slim charging case. The earbuds offer up to 9.5 hours of music playback on a single charge and up to 38 hours in total with the charging case.1

Premium Sound That Maintains Awareness

Galaxy Buds On enables premium audio quality without compromising on rich listening experiences and keeping users connected to their surroundings.

A TwinBoost Speaker, paired with automatic volume adjustment2 based on surrounding noise, enables rich audio in both indoor and outdoor settings. Samsung’s Audio Leakage Reduction technology reduces escaping sound before it travels outward by projecting reversed sound waves from the rear of the speaker — keeping audio more private to the listener. Galaxy Buds On, powered by the Snapdragon® S7 Gen 1 Sound Platform, facilitates extended playback periods at elevated volume levels. This sustained performance is driven by a high-efficiency Class-D amplifier intricately designed to optimize power consumption.

Intelligent Clear Call3 delivers the powerful experience users expect from Galaxy with technologies accumulated through previous Buds series devices. Equipped with three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit (VPU) — a vibration sensor that detects when the user is speaking based on bone and skin movement — Intelligent Clear Call helps isolate the user's voice and removes noise when they are not talking. Simultaneously, a machine-learning call solution, trained on a wide range of ambient sounds like car horns and construction, is designed to remove multiple background noises for a clean call even in noisy surroundings.

Galaxy Ecosystem Extends Hands-Free Capabilities

To help users truly stay connected with the world, Galaxy Buds On delivers a hands-free experience for added convenience and functionality. Samsung delivers a seamless experience by natively integrating Galaxy Buds On with the Galaxy smartphone and AI ecosystem. When users are immersed in activities like running, they can manage their music, notifications and other settings directly through their Buds.

Through hands-free AI voice access, users can converse with Gemini Live4 just by saying “Hey Google, let’s talk live.”5 For everyday productivity, Quick Voice Memo6 captures thoughts through the Buds’ microphone — long-press the earbuds and start speaking. And thanks to Bixby, users can search recordings hands-free.

Head Gestures7 — including nodding to accept and shaking to decline — make the hands-free experience more versatile by supporting more scenarios beyond calls, including dismissing alarms and reading out notifications.

Setting up Galaxy Buds On is simple for Galaxy users. There’s no need to install the Galaxy Wearable app. Just by opening the cradle, users can connect their Buds to a phone or tablet, then control and customize volume or EQ through the Buds shortcut in the Quick Panel.

Availability

Galaxy Buds On will be available in Black for USD $229 in the U.S., beginning early November 2026.
