Messaging Made Easy with the Gear Sport

December 22, 2017

With the new Gear Sport, you’ll be surprised at how many hours you can go without even thinking of your phone. Thanks to a wide range of smart features, you can leave your phone in your bag without worry.

How many times do you think you touch your smartphone a day? Fifty, maybe 500? A study from research firm dscout actually puts it at an average 2,617 times. Despite the seemingly never-ending interaction people have with their phones, there are still those inevitable moments when you find your hands tied and separation anxiety takes over.

With the new Gear Sport, you’ll be surprised at how many hours you can go without even thinking of your phone. Thanks to a wide range of smart features, you can leave your phone in your bag without worry.

CLICK AND TAP, AS SIMPLE AS THAT
When you’re out on your bike, there’s nothing more annoying than having to pull your phone out of your bag to respond to a simple text. But with the Gear Sport, all you need to do is click the bezel once and hit reply before choosing from your Quick Message options. The Gear Sport analyzes the context of each message and provides a pull-down list of smart answer choices. For example, to the text “What time will you get here?” it will let you tap on the numbers to select a time, or choose “I don’t know” as a response.

THERE’S ALWAYS ROOM
If your daily commute involves being packed in with throngs of people in a subway car or bus, there’s little hope of reaching into your bag for your phone to respond to a text. Fear not; with the Gear Sport, you can either pick from a bevy of playful emoticons, or add a personal touch with your own doodles, which are sent via MMS. However packed the car may be, you’ll find there’s always room for creative ways to get your message across.

CAN’T BE BOTHERED
You’re enjoying a leisurely time in the park and don’t want to rummage around your black hole of a handbag to fish out your phone. Even for messages that require longer replies, you can take care of it all on the Gear Sport, with the handy keyboard or handwriting recognition1.

DRIPPING WET
You’ve stepped out of the pool after your morning laps when the Gear Sport buzzes. The watch has 5 ATM water resistance so all options above work just fine, but typing with wet fingers is not much fun. What you can do instead is use voice transcription2 for a quick reply. If you want, you can even send the recording itself.
